Our Mission

Gombea is an independent information platform built to make Kenya’s political and public-representation landscape easier to discover, understand and explore.

We are not a government service, political party, campaign organisation, candidate platform or political advocacy group. Gombea is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or operated on behalf of any government institution or political organisation.

Our role is simple: bring together information that is already publicly available and make it more useful.

Public information about Kenya’s representatives is spread across Parliament, electoral bodies, county governments, county assemblies, official publications, political parties, public records, news organisations and other sources. Finding and understanding that information can require visiting many different websites and documents.

Gombea brings these sources together into one accessible experience.

Using an interactive map, users can explore who represents different parts of Kenya and discover information such as:

  • current office holders and the areas they represent
  • political party affiliations
  • elections and candidates
  • parliamentary and public-service history
  • education and professional backgrounds
  • political composition by geography, party, gender and age
  • recent news and public activity
  • historical changes in representation

Independent by Design

Gombea does not tell users who to support, how to vote or what political conclusions to reach.

Political parties and representatives are presented using the same underlying principles regardless of affiliation.

Where possible, information is linked back to its original source so users can examine the evidence themselves.

When information cannot be reliably verified, is potentially outdated, or has been reported as incorrect, Gombea aims to make that uncertainty visible rather than present assumptions as fact.

Users can also report information they believe is outdated or incorrect. Reports do not automatically change Gombea's data; they trigger a review against available public sources.

Making Public Information Easier to Explore

Gombea believes political information does not need to be difficult, fragmented or buried inside institutional websites and documents.

A map can show how parties are represented across a county.

Data can reveal the age and gender composition of elected leadership.

A timeline can show how representation has changed between elections.

A profile can bring together a representative's public career, education, parliamentary activity and recent news.

Gombea's job is to organise and present these facts clearly. The interpretation belongs to the user.

Our Goal

We want Gombea to become the easiest way to explore Kenya's political representation and the public information surrounding it.

Independent. Neutral. Source-driven. Accessible.

We aggregate the information. You explore the picture.
